Design of Standardized I-Beam Connections according to Eurocode 3 and DIN 18800 
DSTV is the add-on module for RSTAB that designs connections according to the typified connections in a steel construction standard. The module is fully integrated into RSTAB.
You can model flexurally rigid I-beam connections with flush or extended end plates, pinned connections with end plates or web cleats, and coped connections (type IK). The connections can be visualized in a 3D rendering mode. All necessary construction dimensions for end plates and cleats and also hole patterns are provided by DSTV.
Program Features
  • Design of bend-resistant and hinged connections of rolled I-beams according to Eurocode 3 or DIN 18800 (types IH, IW, IS, IK, and IG)
  • Flush and extended rigid connections with an automatic layout of required bolt sizes (types IH1 to IH4)
  • Check for possible column cross-sections in moment resisting connections; check for the required thickness of supporting members in shear connections
  • Statement of the decisive reason for failure
  • Pinned connections with end plates that are either fastened only on the web or on the web and the flange
  • Output of all required construction details such as appliances, hole arrangement, number of bolts, end plate dimensions, and welds
  • Output of the stiffness Sj,ini for moment resisting connections
  • Pinned web cleat connections with standard or long angles (types IW and IG)
  • Examination of coped connections (type IK) in combination with pinned end plate (type IS) and web cleat connections (type IW)
  • Documentation of the existing loading compared to the resistance of the connection. Thus, the coefficient of utilization for every connection is determined
  • Automatic calculation of the governing internal forces for several load cases and members
