DYNAM Addition I. 7.xx

Forced Vibration Analysis

DYNAM Addition I. is an extension to the DYNAM Basic module. This program covers the field of induced vibrations and the dynamic response of any member-based structure at a certain point in time. The module is designed for e.g. the dynamic analysis of machinery foundations.
The excitation function can be defined as accelerations over time functions (accelerogram), force time function or as a harmonic excitation. Excitations described by an accelerogram will be automatically entered on support nodes. Alternatively, excitations can be specified by preset or user-defined response spectra. Excitations can be induced at any node of the structure.
Program Features
  • Modal analysis
  • Response spectrum analysis according to SRSS (square root sum of squares) or CQC (complete quadratic combination)
  • Consideration for modal damping effects
  • Consideration for initial deformations and initial velocities
  • Load factors for the various global directions
  • Combination of different excitations with partly linear and/or harmonic history or an accelerogram
  • Combination of several independent excitation force functions in a single dynamic load case
  • Feedback of dynamic analysis results to RSTAB at any time step for further result combinations with regular static load cases
  • Transfer of the results as a governing, enveloping load combination
  • Excitation of any support node with loads from different accelerograms
  • Graphical and numerical results output on the screen or into the RSTAB printout report
  • Animation of deformations for any time step
  • Further results including participation factor, dynamic equivalent masses and more
Analysis

The DYNAM Addition I. calculation uses the Newmark-Wilson integration with subspace projection of the dynamic equation. This method is known to be very reliable and highly accurate.

Results and Output

The results of DYNAM Addition I. include internal forces, support reactions, deformations, deformation velocities and deformation accelerations as time courses or extreme values. Each will be listed and sorted according time steps, including an evaluation of the maximal and minimal values.
All results can be documented graphically and printed in tables within the standard RSTAB environment.
