Interfaces for Data Exchange in RSTAB 7 |
Various Interfaces Enable Data Exchange among Different Applications |
![]() |
||
| The direct connection between RSTAB 7 and MS-Excel was created for further processing or for preparation of table values. The tables can be exported directly from RSTAB 7 to Excel and then reloaded back. You can also export all the tables to Excel at once. In Excel, you can for example prepare the formulas for parametric input and import them to RSTAB 7 consequently. |

| For data exchange in the field of steel structures the DSTV interface is available, which besides basic geometry can transfer detailed information about designed cross-sections as well. Hereby you can exchange the data with a number of programs, for example "Prosteel 3D", "Intergraph Frameworks", "Advance Steel" or "Tekla Structures". |

| The data exchange for example with the programs Frameworks or Tekla Structures is enabled by the SNDF (Steel Detailing Neutral Format) interface by Intergraph. Between RSTAB 7 and Tekla Structures, the direct interconnection exists. You can export and import data through the RS-COM interface in RSTAB, but you need to have the licence for RS-COM. |

| Using the RS-COM interface access is provided to all RSTAB data about structure, loads, analysis parameters and calculated results. In this way you can connect RSTAB with other programs, hence you can enter, modify and analyse RSTAB data or obtain selected results. For example, in MS Excel you can use the programming language VBA to prepare the connection where the Excel data are used to create the structure in RSTAB etc. |

| Another exchange format, that RSTAB 7 uses, is the IFC (Industry Foundation Classes) format. The IFC interface is divided into several branches, so called domains, for example architecture, structures, statics, electrotechnics etc. RSTAB 7 supports IFC for the domain of statics and enables to tranfer various static data about nodes, members, supports, load cases and loads. |

| Moreover, specialized interfaces such as IGES, STEP and ACIS represent an additional option. In this way, the data import is enabled from many CAD systems. Of course, you can use the DXF format which is very wide-spread. |

| Besides many interfaces for data exchange among various programs also the possibility to exchange and share the RSTAB 7 and RFEM 4 data exists. Hence you can for example open the framework designed in RSTAB easily in RFEM and use it for further modifications and calculations. |
