International steel design codes
for Dlubal software

Load Combinations according to different codes

In addition to the new design standards it is necessary to provide corresponding factored load combinations. For this RF-COMBI, another module for automatic generation of load combinations, has been updated with the required codes. Dlubal users find those new features in the latest versions. At the same time the material databases have been updated with the compatible materials as well.

Implementation of various design codes

The three new modules

  • STEEL AISC (AISC 360-05)
  • STEEL IS (IS 800:2007)
  • STEEL SIA (SIA 263:2003)

include all required checks for load capacity, stability and serviceability (deformation). The cross-sections are automatically classified into different section classes. All comparative slendernesses and critical stresses are analysed automatically within these modules.

All programs perform also the required checks for lateral torsional buckling. Due to an integrated FEM module the critical moments are analyzed in a very efficient and comfortable way for each member including various load and support conditions. The optimization features allows for a quick automatic selection of the most efficient section. The results are always presented in clearly structured tables with references to the code.

In case of STEEL AISC, both the ASD (Allowable Stress Design) and LRFD (Load and Resistance Factor Design) procedures are implemented.

Printout Reports

The printout report is structured in the same way as the result tables in the module itself. The user decides if the result listing should be by loadcase, by member or by cross-section. In many cases graphical visualization of the utilization ratios is preferred to endless tables. In RSTAB/RFEM you find great flexibility in displaying the results. Using so-called named views, various parts of the model may be displayed separatley. With a few mouse clicks engineers may provide an easy to understand printed document of even complex structures.
