Structural Analysis of Lattice Towers and Radio Masts

For RSTAB and RFEM, the two main structural analysis programs, Dlubal Engineering Software provides several new add-on modules for generating structures and loads applied to tower structures, in particular radio masts. The following three modules are available: TOWER Structure, TOWER Equipment, TOWER Loading. Take advantage of these programs to model complex structures of lattice towers and to generate loads due to wind and icing by parametric input.

RF-STAGES Different structural conditions in framework calculations

When analyzing frameworks with variable static systems (for example bridge constructions) or simulating construction sequences appropriately (for example multistorey buildings), the chronology of the structure's creation and load application may play a significant role. Take advantage of the add-on module RF-STAGES to detect such effects and to consider special stages in your framework analysis.

International steel design codes
for Dlubal software

Due to global activities of many steel construction companies, Dlubal Software is used more and more worldwide. In addition to implementation of Eurocode design modules in the recent years, now Dlubal also offers steel design modules for the American standard AISC 360-05, the Indian standard IS 800, and the Swiss code SIA 263. The modules are seamlessly integrated into RSTAB and RFEM, the widely used structural analysis programs for frameworks, plates, shells, and solids.

Glass design with Dlubal software

Design and calculation of single-glazed, tempered, and laminated safety or insulating glass represent special challenges for FEM programs. RFEM and its add-on module RF-GLASS provide numerous features to meet the specific demands in glass construction.

Dlubal software for plants and power stations

Calculation of complex steel constructions for stages and boiler houses in power plant construction makes a special challenge for structural analysis programs. Usually, numerous structural engineers participate in the planning of such great design projects, working on different structural sections at the same time. Therefore, exchange of CAD and structural data is extremely important. In most cases, the complete structure already exists in a CAD draft and can be directly transferred to a structural software package.
Another calculation challenge is the analysis of pressure vessels and pipelines. By using the flexible Dlubal FEM program RFEM 4, you can deal with those requirements comfortably.

New Dlubal versions for timber constructions according to EC 5

The German standard DIN 1052-2008 has just been established as the new Eurocodes for timber construction will be introduced in Europe. Although the national application documents are not available in all countries yet, Dlubal provides a complete design package for timber constructions according to EC 5. Take advantage of the comfortable design programs for spatial calculations in RSTAB and RFEM, and also for typical application cases like truss girders, columns, purlins, and continuous beams.

Effective cross-section properties
with a new Dlubal program SHAPE 7

Calculation of thin-walled cross-sections is quite complex as buckling cross-section parts must be considered. A new SHAPE version, which represents the Dlubal cross-section properties program, now includes the standards DIN 18800 and EN 1993. Analytical methods for local buckling check or section parts design are available.

RFEM 4 - Design according to Eurocodes

New Eurocodes will be introduced in 2010. In Austria, applying these new European standards is mandatory since the beginning of the year and preceding standards are no longer effective since June 1st. In recent years, Dlubal has cooperated with the DBV (German Society for Concrete and Construction Technology) and engineering offices on a pilot project for DIN EN 1992, DIN EN 1993, and DIN EN 1994 to gain experience in using the new Eurocodes and compatible software.

Plastic material behavior
in a new version 4.xx of RFEM

A new version of the Dlubal FEM program was released in spring 2009. RFEM 4 offers a lot of new features and usage of non-linear material laws represents only one special option in an extended application spectrum of this software.
