Description "The multistory hotel building is located in a seismic active area (earthquake zone 2 according to DIN 4149). With the help of RFEM3 it was possible to create and analyze a realistic model of the complicated geometry of the structure. Using the additional module RF-DYNAM seismic design was not a problem. This structure could not have been designed realisticly using a conventional analysis. As a result significantly higher building costs could be avoided". Anton Rohmer

Description The spatial interaction of the reinforced shear walls and floor slabs is significant for the analysis of this several-story headquarters building. Single stiffening shear walls alternate by story. They also contain larger openings. In some cases, the shear walls can not be continued down to the foundation but have to be supported by columns in the underground garage. The loads are then transferred to the soil by bedded foundations. This mode of calculation significantly brings about more economic results than a conventional analysis.
