For the design of timber structures, you can use the framework program RSTAB, the FEA program RFEM and the program package RX-TIMBER.

Programs required for structural timber design with RSTAB


RSTAB is the program used to design frameworks.

Main program RSTAB
Input of structure, loads and load combinations, calculation of deformations, internal and support forces for 2D and 3D frame structures

Add-on module TIMBER Pro
Ultimate limit state design, serviceability limit state design and fire protection design according to DIN 1052:2008-12, EN 1995-1-1:2004+A1:2008 and SIA 265:2003

Integrated planning with RSTAB and CAD software for timber construction


In combination with the CAD software by S&S Datentechnik, Bergisch Gladbach (Germany), you can use RSTAB to create and calculate house roofs and even entire house structures. Based on the CAD model RSTAB automatically generates a structural model including basic load cases. In addition to the main program RSTAB and the add-on module TIMBER Pro, appropriate CAD software is required which is listed below:

RFEM is the FEA program used to design structures consisting of members, plates and surfaces.
