RF-TOWER Loading 4.xx

Generation of Wind, Ice and
Variable Loads for Lattice Towers

Take advantage of the third RF-TOWER module to create design relevant actions for RFEM. The loads can be specified as parameterized wind, ice and variable loads. The objects defined in RF-TOWER Structure and RF-TOWER Equipment are also taken into account for the generation.
Features

  • Consideration of the tower's self-weight including equipment
  • Wind load distribution for windward and leeward tower faces, or user-defined distribution
  • Determination of wind loads applied to tower and equipment, especially for structures prone to vibration (gust factor)
  • Assignment of surface and concentrated loads to platforms
  • Option to reduce total wind load by selecting single objects
  • Determination of ice loads for icing classes G and R with preset ice thickness and length of unidirectional ice increase
  • Generation of traffic load cases with surface and human loads

Input

RF-TOWER Loading fulfills the requirements according to
DIN 1055-4, DIN 4131:1991-11 and DIN V 4131:2008-09. These standards include specifications for loads due to self-weight, wind, humans, ice and traffic. The standard specifications are preset or stored in the libraries.

Furthermore, it is possible to create individual load situations: wind pressure, wind direction or ice loads can be set manually or imported from tables.

Generation

Subsequent to the load generation, you can check the data displayed in tables. The output shows all specifications for the generated load cases and loads due to self-weight, wind and ice load. All loads are itemized by structural objects and different types of equipment.

Data Export

The generated loads can be easily transferred to RFEM by mouse-click, where it is possible to superimpose them with other load cases. In addition, you can jump directly into the add-on module RF-COMBI to create combinations for the relevant design situations.
