RFEM 4.xx

Finite Element Analysis (FEA) of Plates, Walls, Shells, Solids and Frameworks

RFEM 4 represents a 3D Finite Element Analysis (FEA) program for the ambitious structural engineer that meets the requirements of modern civil engineering and mirrors the current state of art.

RFEM is the basis of a modular software system: The basic module RFEM determines the internal forces, deformations and support reactions of plates, shells or frameworks. For the following design, add-on modules are available which account for the specific requirements of materials and codes. Due to this modular conception of the software, a package can be assembled that is tailored to individual demands.

The following pages give you insight into the possibilities of RFEM. We also advise you to install our demo version and to calculate structures on your own with this intuitively working program.

New Features in RFEM 4

Interesting new tools have been implemented in RFEM 4.
See for yourself. We have compiled all novelties in an overview.

User Interface

Models can be created graphically in a CAD specific interface, numerically in tables or by combining both possibilities. Comprehensive context menus facilitate the input. As a structural model is visualized as a photorealistic 3D graphic, the input data can be checked immediately.

Modeling

The input is facilitated by useful auxiliary functions and tools to generate structural models including loads. Member nonlinearities (yielding, slippage etc.) are possible as well as couplings or eccentricities for members and surfaces.

Analysis

The model is calculated linearly according to 1st order theory or non-linearly according to 2nd order theory or large deformation analysis. The results can be superimposed in combinations to determine the internal forces for the design.

Results

The internal forces, deformations and support reactions are displayed numerically and graphically on the model. Filter criteria enable you to specifically select the results. All data is documented in a printout report based on a multilingual concept. The contents can be adjusted and saved as a template.

Project Management

The integrated project manager organizes your structures and projects centrally in one place. Detailed specifications and graphic previews make it easy to allocate all models for fast processing of jobs.

Interfaces

RFEM offers a great variety of integrated interfaces. They make sure that the structural analysis is integrated in the seamless DP-based project workflow.
