A structure is made of two trusses, which are embedded into the hinge supports. The structure is loaded by concentrated force. The self-weight is neglected. Determine the relationship between the loading force and the deflection, considering large deformations.

The member type 'Dashpot' can be used for time history analyzes in RFEM/RSTAB with the add-on modules RF-/DYNAM Pro - Forced Vibrations and RF-/DYNAM Pro - Nonlinear Time History. This linear viscous damping element considers forces dependent on velocity.
With regard to viscoelasticity, the member type 'Dashpot' is similar to the Kelvin-Voigt model, which consists of the damping element and an elastic spring (both connected in parallel).
In the Construction Stages Analysis (CSA) add-on, you can use built-up cross-sections by applying the phase sections. This allows you to activate and deactivate the parts of the "Parametric - Massive II" section type throughout the construction stages.
Do you have individual column sections and angled wall geometries, and need punching shear design for them?
No problem. In RFEM 6, you can perform punching shear design not only for rectangular and circular sections, but for any cross-section shape.
In the Geotechnical Analysis add-on, the Hook-Brown material model is available. The model shows linear-elastic ideal-plastic material behavior. Its nonlinear strength criterion is the most common failure criterion for rocks.
Material parameters can be entered via
- the rock parameters directly or alternatively via
- the GSI classification
described.
