Model Data of Facade Structure

Model

Huana Engineering Consulting (Beijing) Co., Ltd., a long-time Dlubal customer, was responsible for the structural analysis. The structural calculations were performed in RSTAB.

Building

The building exterior is designed with the concepts of texture, cutting, fission, and void. The structure is complex, absolutely extraordinary, and impresses with its futuristic appearance and its extremely strong visual impact. The clear, open interior space, combined with the interlacing of light and shadow, is perfect for artistic photos.

The Urban Planning Museum is located on the north side, and uses a variety of new technologies and advanced facilities to demonstrate the achievements in the urban planning and development of Shenzhen. The Museum of Contemporary Art is located on the south side.

The entire museum is a 164-foot-high building with two basement floors and five above-ground floors, with a total construction area of 105,090 yd². Both museums float above the massive podium building and are surrounded by a wide-spanning building envelope. The total construction cost is approximately €222 million.

Structural System

The project is a reinforced concrete frame-shear wall structure below the first floor, and above the first floor it is divided into two major structural systems - the skin steel structure system and the main structural system of the tower range. The skin steel structure is a single-story cross beam-column complex polyhedral mesh shell structure; the floor system is mainly a combination of steel trusses and reinforced concrete floor slabs, and locally a reinforced concrete beam-slab floor.
