Intermediate Lateral Restraint

Glossary Term

This term describes additional restraints that can be defined between supports. These are particularly important for the calculation of the elastic critical buckling moment Mcr in the case of lateral-torsional buckling.
In general, it is possible to enter a lateral support (in the y‑direction), a restraint (about the x‑axis) and eccentricity (in the z‑direction) as rigid or as a spring.
