[EN] FAQ 002265 | How can I specify a user-defined allowable crack width in the add-on modules for ...

Question:
How can I specify a user-defined allowable crack width in the add-on modules for concrete design?

Answer:
The RF‑CONCRETE Surfaces and RF‑CONCRETE Members add-on modules provide the option to limit the allowable crack width to a user-defined value for the design according to the Eurocode. In RF‑CONCRETE Surfaces, you can find the corresponding settings in Window 1.3, tab Limitat of Crack Widths, and in RF‑CONCRETE Members, you can find the settings in Window 1.6, tab Serviceability.

As long as the design without direct crack width calculation according to 7.3.3 is active, it is possible to select a user-defined value in the range of 0.2 to 0.4 mm. If you want to define a limit value outside of this range, you have to deactivate the design without the direct crack width calculation and only use the design with the direct crack width calculation according to 7.3.4.
