[EN] FAQ 000628 | We want to reinforce a floor slab of a round vessel radially or tangentially.

Question:
We want to reinforce a floor slab of a round vessel radially or tangentially.

Is there a way to calculate not an orthogonal reinforcement, but a radial or tangential reinforcement?

Answer:
In order to display the results as a radial reinforcement, it is necessary to direct the axes of the FE elements. For this, it is sufficient to direct the axis system of the surface to a point (the center of the circle, in this case).

To do this, double-click the surface to be edited and then switch to the "Axes" tab. There are various options for directing the axes.

Select "Axis x direct to point" and use the graphical selection function to select the center of the circular area. After recalculating the results in RF‑CONCRETE Surfaces, the reinforcement is displayed radially and tangentially.
