FAQ 004437 | Do I have to add the reinforcement for ribs from RF‑CONCRETE Members and RF‑CONCRETE Surfaces?

Question:
Do I have to add the reinforcement for ribs from RF‑CONCRETE Members and RF‑CONCRETE Surfaces?

Answer:
It depends.

RF‑CONCRETE Surfaces provides the option to neglect the component of internal forces that are considered in the rib design for the ULS and SLS (analytical) calculation.

When you activate this option, you can also see this in the diagram of the required reinforcement. See the following diagram of as,2,-z(top) for the downstand beam:

In this case, it would be necessary to add the results from RF‑CONCRETE Surfaces and the results from RF‑CONCRETE Members because the rib component of the surface internal forces in the direction of the downstand beam was not considered in RF‑CONCRETE Surfaces.

When you do not activate this option, you have to consider the maximum from the design in RF‑CONCRETE Surface and RF‑CONCRETE Members for the reinforcement drawing.
