When I define an elastic foundation, is there any possibility to make the springs for tension or compression fail?
In the current RFEM and RSTAB versions, it is possible to let elastic foundations fail for tension or compression.
In RFEM, you can apply this function to line supports as well as surface supports. For this, click "Insert" -> "Model Data" -> "Line / Surface Supports" or "Edit" -> "Model Data" ... etc. The "Nonlinearity" option specifies the failure type.
In RSTAB, you can only set a "Member Elastic Foundation". The failure is defined in the same way as in RFEM.
