Question

Is the RF‑CONCRETE Surfaces add-on module able to determine and calculate a required reinforcement with the corresponding diameter for the design without the direct crack width analysis according to EN 1992‑1‑1, 7.3.3?

Answer:
The program can only determine a required longitudinal reinforcement in [cm²/m] by applying the previously selected diameter. The underlying diameter for the check for the limitation of the steelbar diameter is defined in the "Longitudinal Reinforcement" tab of Window 1.4.

Here, you can define a diameter for the basic reinforcement as well as a diameter for the reinforcement in the serviceability limit state (see Image 01). The diameter applied for the design according to 7.3.3 is determined using the weight of both defined diameters. This is based on the ratio of the provided basic reinforcement and the reinforcement applied additionally for the SLS (see Image 02).
