How is the static depth d calculated in the bending design of block foundations (calculation as equivalent beams)?

Answer

The static depth d for the design "Bending Failure Equivalent Beam" results from the plate thickness minus the set concrete cover on the bottom side of the block foundation, the diameter of the regular bending reinforcement of the plate on the bottom side in both directions and half the diameter of the reinforcement of the "equivalent beam."


The static depth d is considered differently in both directions (bending about the x and the y axis) in this case. This must be taken into account when evaluating the calculation in the result table "2.2 Governing Designs - Bending Failure Equivalent Members."
