In the add-on modules, do I use load cases or load or result combinations for the design process? Does the particular add-on module (for example, RF-/FOUNDATION Pro) create the required load combinations automatically?


For the design, you should basically select the design load in the respective design situation to be analyzed. That is, for example, "ULS" or "SLS."

Now, it is important that the add-on modules in RFEM or RSTAB do not automatically generate these design load cases. It means that it is not sufficient to only select load cases in the add-on modules. Before starting the calculation, you have to either create or generate load combinations or result combinations in the add-on modules.

Then, these load or result combinations can be applied for the design in the add-on modules.

However, if you want to explicitly carry out the design in an add-on module for a specific load case, you can select it for the design. If several single load cases are selected for design, the design is performed consecutively by load cases.
