Question

Why is it not possible to define the center node of an arc as a help node?

Answer:
The center node of a line always refers to the property of the line and not of the member. Therefore, it is not possible to use the center node of the line as a help node.

You can use the "Create New Node as Help Node" command (see the image) to create the node directly in the dialog box. The effort is thus the same as if you "pick" the node directly.
