  • Answer

Yes, RFEM and RSTAB can be used for the analysis and design of cable and tensile structures, including the substructures. The cables can be calculated with or without prestress.

Furthermore, you can use the RF‑FORM‑FINDING add-on module to perform form-finding of the cable system before the calculation.

    Available Programs

    • RFEM is the main program where structures, materials, and actions are defined. Planar and spatial plate, slab, shell, and member structures are possible.
    • RSTAB is the 3D structural frame analysis program for 3D beam, frame, or truss structure calculations.

    Useful Add-on Modules and Programs

    • RF-FORM-FINDING for form-finding of cable and tensile structures.
    • RWIND Simulation allows for simulations in the digital wind tunnel for complex structures. The generated wind loads can be imported into RFEM or RSTAB.

You can find more add-on modules in the industries Aluminum and Lightweight Structures and Steel Structures.

    Data Exchange and BIM

Various interfaces allow for efficient work in exchange with other project participants. In this way, you can also cooperate smoothly in BIM processes.

    Dynamic Analysis

If it is necessary to perform seismic analysis or vibration designs, the RF‑/DYNAM Pro add-on modules provide special tools for determining natural frequencies and mode shapes, an analysis of forced vibrations, a generation of equivalent loads, or for a nonlinear time history analysis.

If you have any question about the Dlubal Software programs, please do not hesitate to contact our sales department.

  • Answer

RFEM allows you to perform structural analysis and design of laminate and sandwich structures. The same applies to cross-laminated timber. Stress and deflection anaylsis of laminate and sandwich surfaces is performed according to the laminate theory, taking into account the shear coupling.

    Available Programs and Add-on Modules

    • RFEM is the main program where structures, materials, and actions are defined. Planar and spatial plate, slab, shell, and member structures are possible.
    • RF-LAMINATE is required for the stress and deflection analysis of laminate surfaces. It is possible to specify user-defined layer structures.

    Add-on Module for Timber Structures

    • RF-TIMBER Pro performs structural analysis and design according to Eurocode 5, for example, for further supporting elements of the structure.

There are also other add-on modules available for other structures, such as steel or concrete structures.

Hydraulic steel structures, such as sluices, locks and lock chambers, roller water gates, sliding and sector gates, weir flaps, drum gates, flood protection gates, ship lifts, canal bridges, are highly sophisticated structures. RFEM provides the possibility for structural design as well as static and dynamic analysis of such complex structures with surface and solid elements.

    Available Programs and Add-on Modules

    • RFEM is the main program where structures, materials, and actions are defined. Planar and spatial plate, slab, shell, and member structures are possible.

In the case of online training, the communication between the speaker and the participant is live using the Internet. During the training, each participant can ask questions at any time using the chat option.

For this, you need a reliable and fast Internet connection (for example, DSL) and a headset.

Your dongle and thus access to your license is only required if you want to carry out the modeling on your computer simultaneously during the online training. In this case, it is recommended to work with two monitors so that you can see both your program interface and the video at the same time.

If it is not the basic training, the basic knowledge of using RFEM or RSTAB is required.

  • Answer

You can find our current offer of online training always updated on our website under the following link:

Select the relevant training session and click the "Register" button at the bottom. A form appears, where you should enter your personal details, e-mail address, and company data. The next page provides you with a brief overview or the confirmation of your registration, and the information about the training price whether the training is liable to pay. In the case of the training liable for costs, you can proceed with the payment and use either PayPal or one of the following credit cards:

    • Visa
    • MasterCard
    • Discover
    • American Express

Please ensure that your credit card is activated for the relevant amount and that the details are entered correctly.

Sometimes, credit cards are not accepted. The reasons for this may be:

    • The network settings have the restrictions that prevent from using online payment systems. In this case, use another network, for example, on your cell phone.
    • Antivirus programs block the usage of the online payment system.
    • Your credit card does not have the required transaction volume.

If the problems cannot be solved, please contact us.

  • Answer

Yes, it is possible to exchange data between the LayPLAN software by Layher and RSTAB. The "LayPLAN TO RSTAB" tool allows you this.

You can easily transfer scaffolding structures to RSTAB. The "LayPLAN TO RSTAB" interface transfers geometry data as well as statically relevant information, such as cross-section and material data, member types, eccentricities, and nonlinear joint definitions according to the approval.

To operate this interface, an active license of RS‑COM to RSTAB is required.

A perpetual license or a rental license is available for RS‑COM.
  • Answer

Dlubal Software has a modular structure. You can compile the software as required. For this, you always need a main program. It is either RSTAB for frame & beam structures, or RFEM for general finite element calculations (beam structures, surfaces, and solid elements). For this, you can configure the required add-on modules depending on your task.
We can give you general recommendations as to which program combination is possible, but it is better to take some time and select the add-on modules according to the specific needs. The add-on modules that are not required can be simply omitted or quickly reordered if necessary. Therefore, you can only buy the product service that you really need. The programs are also available for purchase without any running costs - an advantage in the eyes of many users.
We will be happy to advise you in detail and without obligation. A first step is often to familiarize yourself with the trial version or watch some short videos. You can send us a short e-mail or give a phone call and we will show you where to find what.

If you want to take a look around, you can find the individual solution-related product combinations on our website.

In order to get an idea of the price, the webshop provides you with a wide range of package composition options, including online ordering and payment. Before the final order, you always have the option to download the product compilation as a non-binding offer. The short video attached shows you how to do it.

First Steps

First steps

We provide hints and tips to help you get started with the main programs RFEM and RSTAB.

Wind Simulation & Wind Load Generation

With the stand-alone program RWIND Simulation, wind flows around simple or complex structures can be simulated by means of a digital wind tunnel.

The generated wind loads acting on these objects can be imported to RFEM or RSTAB.

Your support is by far the best

“Thank you for the valuable information.

I would like to pay a compliment to your support team. I am always impressed how quickly and professionally the questions are answered. I have used a lot of software with a support contract in the field of structural analysis, but your support is by far the best. ”
