    No, when using a nonlinear material model, it is not absolutely necessary, according to theory II. Or III. To add order.

    The material nonlinearity is taken into account in the calculation according to the theory of the 1st order.

    The calculation according to theory II. Or III. Order means that the balance is placed on the deformed system. So it's a geometric nonlinearity.

    The difference between II. And III. Order is that at III.Ordnung large rotations may occur.

    So, if you do not have a stability problem or otherwise study the stability problem, then an I order calculation is sufficient.
