In addition to our technical support (e.g. via chat), you’ll find resources on our website that may help you with your design using Dlubal Software.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Customer Support 24/7
AnswerThere is no liimit of the program file size if you are using the 64‑bit system and the 64‑bit version of RFEM 5 or RSTAB 8.The "Limit" is determined by the computer configuration. It may happen that the available RAM memory plus the virtual memory defined in Windows (free memory space) is insufficient. In this case, you can optimize the computer configuration (more RAM, more free hard disk capacity).
AnswerIn most cases, the accuracy of the results is important. Due to the complex networking, solid elements require a lot of computing power and of course hard disk space as well. Depending on how fine or rough the size of the FE mesh was selected, the smaller or larger the required hard disk space is.
AnswerIt is best to save the file without results and without printout reports. It is best to save a copy of the file and deactivate the results (incl. FE mesh - only RFEM) and the printout reports. In the actual "Save" dialog box, there is also a function to save the file in a compressed form (see Figure 01). The file size will be considerably reduced.
If the file is still too big afterwards or the results or printout reports should not be deleted by the support for reasons of better traceability, you can also submit your request on our website. To do so, follow the link below that leads you to the "Report Issue or Error" page. Allows you to upload files up to a size of 2GB. Of course, you can also use your own file hosting service and include the link to the file in the e-mail.
The simplest way how to reach this is to select the "Save File As" option in the "File" drop-down menu. In the following dialog box, unselect Results.
You can see on both figures how the size of the file without results is reduced.
The results of the current model can also be deleted using the drop-down menu "Results → Available Results."
Another possibility is to right-click the "Results" entry in the Data Navigator and select the "Delete All Results" option.
Also, you can just shift a node in the model and thus delete all results. Then, use the Undo function to move the node back to its previous position. Now save the model without the results.

Wind Simulation & Wind Load Generation
With the stand-alone program RWIND Simulation, wind flows around simple or complex structures can be simulated by means of a digital wind tunnel.
The generated wind loads acting on these objects can be imported to RFEM or RSTAB.
“Thank you for the valuable information.
I would like to pay a compliment to your support team. I am always impressed how quickly and professionally the questions are answered. I have used a lot of software with a support contract in the field of structural analysis, but your support is by far the best. ”
