• In RF-CONCRETE Members, I get the error message that the members of the set of members do not have the identical orientation and the set of members is excluded from the design, what is to be done?

The individual members of a set of members must have an identical orientation. Furthermore, the orientation of the members and the set of members must match.

Solution:

In the Display navigator, you can display and check the orientation of members and sets of members. Use the shortcut menu to invert the Orientation of a member or set of members (see Figure 03)
• I receive an error message in RF-CONCRETE Members: "Set of members No. is excluded from the calculation "What does it mean?

The sets of members to be designed in the add-on module must be based on the same or uniformly running cross-section.

A special feature is a set of members consisting of ribs. This results in an identical cross-section only if the integration width of the rib is selected to be the same. Thus, there must be a uniform rib type for the entire set of members.

• Is there any possibility in the program to get normal forces and moments from the calculated stresses for solids?

For volumes, we do not provide any internal forces in the program. The conversion of the Spannnugnen in internal forces would be very complex, since not only mx, my and mz would be present, but also the parts of the drill, mxy, myz, mxz also lateral forces and normal forces. With volume one limits oneself usually on a direct voltage evaluation. If you still need internal forces, you have the option to apply the internal forces of the volume to a rod. For this purpose the result bar was implemented in the program.
• I have defined a nodal release but it seems the internal forces are fully transferred to the released object.

Please double check if you have released the correct elements and the correct amount of elements. If you have only 2 beams connected to each other, please make sure you have released only one of them.
• For a calculation I activated the option "detailed calculation". Are the bearing loads already specified with the reduced vibration coefficient for dimensioning the substructure?

The support forces will be combined in the same way as the internal forces from the load cases with consideration fo the dynamic coefficients. For this purpose, the bearing forces (except for LF1 and LF2) are multiplied by the ratio of vibration coefficient carrier to vibration coefficient bearing and added according to the LK criterion, since the wheel loads from LF3 already include the vibration coefficient for the carrier.

• I want to graphically display bearing loads in the screen. Unfortunately, it does not work anymore for some reason.

1. Check whether the results of the selected load case are calculated and the bearing reactions are activated (see Figure 1).

2. If point 1 did not work, the settings in the pointing navigator are probably the cause of the problem. In this case, it is recommended that you reset the settings in the Point Navigator to the default settings. To do this, open the Point Navigator. Then right-click on an entry in the Navigator to open the context menu shown in the following graphic. In the context menu you can select the entry "Dlubal Standard". This resets the settings to the default value and the display of bearing forces should work again.
• Why are not all voltages displayed in the Results Navigator? Even with the internal forces not all options are shown.

This depends on the choice of model type. In this case a flat system was chosen. Thus, only for this level, the relevant results are displayed because they are reduced because of the limited coordinates and degrees of freedom. If, on the other hand, a 3D system is selected as the model type, all stresses and internal forces are displayed.
• Why is the sum of the charges different from the sum of the support forces? What causes could it be?

The following causes can be responsible for this:
• In most cases, these differences can be attributed to a lack of convergence. Increasing the iterations and increments in the calculation parameters and FE mesh settings should help.
• High stiffness jumps result in numerical problems, which leads to errors in the result evaluation. In RSTAB, this is not a major problem with a full and analytical approach. In RFEM, on the other hand, approximation approaches are used, so higher stiffness jumps should rather be avoided.
• Bedded bars may well be subject to deviations as well. If the bars are not or only roughly divided, there are convergence problems. A practical solution here is to select a "finer" bar pitch in the FE mesh settings.
• Why do I get a bending moment in the area around the column in my model, even though the area has been fitted with a line joint?

The area on the right in Fig. 1 therefore receives a moment in the area of the support because this surface is rigidly connected to the support (the surface itself does not have a line joint). If one wants to exclude this moment, one would therefore have to create an additional line joint for the right-hand surface or provide the support with a rod end joint.
• Can I check in the program whether the totals of the bearing forces match the sums of the loads?

In results mask 4.0 of RSTAB and RFEM, the results are displayed in summary. There, among other things, load cases, all totals of the bearing forces are listed with the sums of charges.
