• ### In the case of member loads, the loads are entered in Table "3.2 Member Loads." I can view or change the values.In my model, I have applied generated loads. Should the member loads not be also visible in Table "3.15 Generated Loads"?

The load values of generated loads are recorded in Table "3.15 Generated Loads." It is not possible to make any changes there.

If you want to change the loads, you have to disconnect the generated loads. You can do this quickly by using the shortcut menu of the load (see the figure).

• ### I have a node subjected to a concentrated load, but I cannot select it for the design in RF‑PUNCH Pro. Why?

In RF‑PUNCH Pro, you can select for design the nodes where the concentrated load is applied as a "nodal load."

Important:

• Free concentrated loads cannot be applied here as the location of the free concentrated loads is not defined by a node, but by their coordinates.
• The nodes subjected to a nodal load can only be picked once a load has been selected for design.

• ### I have set a variable load distribution for a generated load. This should be applied incrementally in a certain direction. However, the load is not stepped, but is displayed with a linear distribution. How can I display the load correctly?

In order to display the loads correctly, it is necessary to make some adjustments. In the case of an incrementally applied load, the boundary of the area load plane may only be defined in sections (by load increment). Otherwise, the load is distributed linearly over the entire area load plane.
• ### For the settlement calculation in the RF‑SOILIN add-on module, the specific weight gamma and gamma,sat are required for the soil. What do I need the value gamma,sat for, and how is it assumed in the calculation?

The value $\gamma,_{sat}$& corresponds to the weight of the saturated soil and can be adjusted in the settings of material parameters, if necessary. If there is groundwater in a layer, the weight of the saturated soil $\gamma,_{sat}$ is automatically reduced from this layer by the weight of groundwater (10 kN/m³). Above this layer, the stresses are calculated with the specific weight of the soil.

• ### Can I also apply the "From Area Load on Members via Plane" load generator to members that do not lie in one plane?

The load generator "Convert Area Loads to Member Loads from Plane" is only intended for members in a plane and thus works best. For structures where the members do not lie in one plane but individual areas, the function "From Area Load on Members via Cells" may be the better choice: Thus, closed cells can also be created from three members with the help of null members, which can then be stressed.

Otherwise, the tolerance settings would still be an option. They allow you to also define members outside a plane. You can define the details as shown in Figure 01.

• ### Is it also possible to transform a generated load into a "real" member load?

Yes, it is possible. For this, right-click the generated load and select the "Disconnect Generated Load" option in the shortcut menu (see Figure 01). The generated loads are then converted into normal member loads and can be changed as required.
• ### When generating the load, I would like the gable binders of a hall not to be loaded by the wind on the gable wall. Is this possible?

If you only want to transfer the wind loads on the gable over the columns and not via the girder, you can deactivate it in the settings of the load generator by using the "Correction of Generated Loads" setting (see Figure 01).
• ### What does the error 12303 mean?

The error 12303 means that the generated load via Tools - Generate Loads on Member does not find a member or is badly defined on a certain member.

You can control the generated load in column 3.15 or via double click to the load. In this dialogue you can select the edge nodes to correct the defined area.
• ### Can additional individual loads for the crane runway girder be defined in the add-on module KRANBAHN?

Unfortunately, this is not possible so far. The additional loads can only be considered as equal load over the whole carrier.
