Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

AnswerYes, in the global selection, it is possible to select the chapters that you want to get displayed in the printout report. To access this function, use the menu 'Edit' → 'Selection'.The four checkboxes in the "Display of" section at the bottom left control whether a cover sheet, a table of contents, small info pictures, and large headings should be displayed in the report margin.
AnswerThe result data can be prepared using the selection field Specific. It is possible to limit the printout report to the results of certain load cases or load combinations.
AnswerYes, it is.It is possible to edit the concrete cover in the first row for the direction d1 and d2 and then switch to the cell in the second line and copy the value from the cell above it with the [F8] key. This allows you to edit the values relatively quickly for all connected surfaces. You can also use the button to filter the applied areas to reduce the number of lines displayed. See the link below.
AnswerThe content of the printout report can be changed in the 'Printout Report Selection' dialog box.
In the opened printout report, use the menu Edit → Select, the corresponding toolbar button, or the Printout Report Context Menu (Figure 1) to open the dialog. You can also use the context menu of the Project Navigator - Data to open the dialog box without having to open the printout report (Figure 2)
In the global selection, it is possible to select the chapters that you want to appear in the printout report (Figure 3). When having deactivated the checkbox, the corresponding detail register disappears.
In the Model Data, Load Cases, and Combinations, Loads and Results tabs, you can select the corresponding tables in the 'Tables to Display' dialog section (Figure 4).
Furthermore, you can delete chapters in the open printout report by using the context menu. To do this, select the corresponding chapters and then select the 'Remove from Report' command in the context menu (Figure 5). To insert the chapter(s), use the dialog box 'Printout Report Selection'.
AnswerIn the general printout report selection, it is possible to define the load cases to be displayed, however, only for result types. Sometimes, however, it makes sense to differentiate this setting depending on the result type (for example, support forces of all load cases, internal forces should only be output by the governing load cases). On the one hand, this can be set with the special selection per result type (right-click the corresponding entry in the navigation tree). On the other hand, all load cases can remain selected in the general selection, and all unnecessary load case results are then removed manually from the navigation tree. This manual selection can be overwritten in the global settings. The corresponding option "Overwrite Individual Settings" appears here.
AnswerThe easiest way to do this is with the function "Related Objects". This can be found in the menu under Edit -> Select (see picture).
AnswerIf you want to print graphics in a report, the corresponding subitem must be active in the selection of the printout report in the "Global Selection" tab, see Figure 1. As a result, the tables are also displayed.
If you only want to print pictures in the printout report, it is necessary to deactivate the tables in the tabs, see Figure 2.Afterwards, it is also possible to save report templates so that they can be used again in other positions. New templates can be defined in the printout report menu:Settings → Printout Report Template → New or New from Current Printout Report, Figure 3.
In the RF‑CONCRETE Members (RFEM) and CONCRETE (RSTAB) add‑on modules, members are not selected in Window 1.1 "General Data" but in Window 1.6 "Reinforcement." In this window, a "reinforcement group" is preset by default, to which all the members are assigned (see the figure).
If you unselect the "All" option, the relevant member numbers can be entered manually or defined graphically.
To get an immediate overview of how many objects you have selected, we have implemented a new function in RFEM and RSTAB: In the shortcut menu of the selected objects, you can also see the number of the various selected elements now.
Probably, the buttons [Selection Synchronization] and [Display Selected Objects] have been deactivated in the tables window. Turn them on again (see picture 1). Then, when you select an object whose table row is marked, it will be highlighted with colors in the graphic. The same applies vice versa: When you select an object in the graphic, the corresponding row will be displayed and highlighted in the table, too.
Objects that are clicked in the Data navigator are selected in the graphic as well (see picture 2).

Wind Simulation & Wind Load Generation
With the stand-alone program RWIND Simulation, wind flows around simple or complex structures can be simulated by means of a digital wind tunnel.
The generated wind loads acting on these objects can be imported to RFEM or RSTAB.
“Thank you very much for the useful information.
I would like to pay a compliment to your support team. I am always impressed how quickly and professionally the questions are answered. In the industry of structural analysis, I use several software including service contract, but your support is by far the best.”
