Please only select the members with the reinforced concrete cross-section for the design in Window 1.6. Only the default setting of 1 load increment can be set when a complex nonlinear material model is defined. The reason for this is because the program cannot determine the correct material stiffness for each incremental loading amount. The polyline displayed in Figure 01 has been created in the order of Nodes 1 → 2 → 3 → 4 → 5. This is also visible in Column B "Node No." of Table "1.2 Lines." Thus, the line segments between Nodes 3, 4 and Nodes 4, 5 are overlapping, so that the error message shown in Figure 02 appears.
The order of the nodes must be changed in the way that no line segments overlap each other. In this example, it would be the order of Nodes 1 → 2 → 3 → 5 → 4, as shown in Figure 03.
You can also use the "Explode Polyline" function to decompose the polyline (Figure 04). Thus, two lines are created between Node 5 and Node 4. Then, you can delete the line. For this, it is also possible to use the "Regenerate Model" function in the "Tools" menu.

If you defined the result beam correctly, there may be too rough FE mesh in the door lintel area, which leads to rough inaccuracies in the results (in this case, shear forces, see Figure 01).
It is recommended to create about ten finite elements above the height of the door opening. For example, if the height above the door opening is 0.5 m, the target FE mesh width of 0.05 m is adequate in this area, so that the desired results are achieved (see Figure 02: shear forces).
The settings are made globally (Menu → Calculation → FE Mesh Settings) or by using the local FE mesh refinement.
In RF‑/STEEL EC3, a support has been defined in Window "1.7 Nodal Supports" at a node that is not part of the set of members. In this case, it is necessary to define the support at a node existing in the set of members or delete this nodal support in Window "1.7 Nodal Supports" of RF‑/STEEL EC3.
In Figure 1, a nodal support has been defined on Node 2 and Node 7 for Set of members 1, for example. When starting the calculation, the message "Node No. 7 with support does not exist in the set of members No. 1. Please correct this in 1.7." appears (Figure 02, Figure 03).
In Window "1.7 Nodal Supports" of RF‑/STEEL EC3, it is possible to only display the selected set of members by clicking the "Show Only Current Object" button and the node numbering can be displayed by clicking the "Local Coordinate System" button (Figure 04). It is obvious that Node 7 is not contained in the set of members. Instead of at Node 7, the support must be defined on a node contained in the member set (for example, Node 6).
