Setting Automatic Eccentricities via "Select" Function
Tips & Tricks
In RFEM 5 and RSTAB 8, a new user‑friendly input option has been implemented for the eccentricities of surfaces and members. The “Select” function offers a comfortable way to do this.
In the input windows for members, you select the cross‑section alignment, for example, at the upper or the lower edge of the cross‑section. Next, you define the axis offset relative to the reference member as well as the reference member itself. The program automatically determines the eccentricity by means of the defined dimensions of the member cross‑sections.
The advantage of such a definition is that the eccentricity is automatically adjusted if you change the cross‑sections of the members.
