Elastic Nodal Support 2
Tips & Tricks
To avoid singularities due to a fixed nodal support in RFEM, you can use the option of the elastic support. This can be defined directly in the dialog box of the nodal support as a column in Z. It is necessary to take into account the geometry of the column, the material, and the support conditions. Here, we want to look at the option of modeling the column as surface foundation.
For the surface foundation, a surface with the column dimensions is detached, to which an elastic foundation is applied internally. As in the previously described modeling of an elastic nodal support the left plate is calculated with a support as column, the right one, however, with a normal nodal support.
