As already mentioned in the first part of the article, the flexural stiffness of a stiffness beam is determined to consider the shear stiffness of the fasteners.
For this, you can use the formulas shown in Figure that result from the structural systems. The picture above shows the determination of flexural stiffness disregarding the stiffness of the web / flange, the picture below shows the flexural stiffness considering the stiffness of the web / flange.
The resulting value can be easily edited in the Member Type “Definable Stiffness” with no need to create an effective cross‑section.
You can determine the slip modulus according to 7.1 of EN 1995‑1‑1.
