Damage Equivalent Factors

Tips & Tricks

Damage equivalent factors depend on the respective components to be designed in RF‑/STEEL Fatigue Members and they are explained in the corresponding standards. The following list shows an overview of the standards, which describe the calculation of the damage equivalent factors in detail.

  • EN 1993-2 Steel bridges
  • EN 1993-3-1 Towers, masts and chimneys
  • EN 1993-3-2 Towers, masts and chimneys
  • EN 1993-4-1 Silos
  • EN 1993-4-2 Tanks
  • EN 1993-4-3 Pipelines
  • EN 1993-6 Crane supporting structures

In case there is no information regarding the damage equivalent factors, it is possible to apply the design requirements according to EN 1993‑1‑9, Appendix A. From the damage equivalent factors and stress ranges you get the nominal stress results.
