Rotation-symmetric structures or structural components are frequently entered in the Cartesian coordinate system. For example, subsequently changing the radius requires some effort as the coordinates should be recalculated first and then updated for each node.
If you use the polar or cylindrical coordinate system, editing can be much faster. RFEM and RSTAB provides the option to change the coordinate system type subsequently by using the input table or the “Edit Node” dialog box. Then, the conversion to the new coordinate system is performed automatically.
