In September 2011, the Bavarian municipality of Hohenschwangau has gained yet another historical tourist attraction. After four years of planning and construction, the "Museum of the Bavarian Kings" opened its doors for the first time.
Located below the Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau castles, the museum combines Bavarian history with impressive steel and glass architecture. For the construction of the triple barrel vault, the Museum of the Bavarian Kings received the German Steel Design Award 2012.
