Using the graphical structural analysis and the computer program RFEM, the ideal shape is found and improved iteratively. Furthermore, the internal forces are calculated automatically. These internal forces and support conditions are used to perform the governing design checks. They are used for the ultimate limit state design of the hangar structure. In this design, the load-bearing elements are mainly connected by hinges. The stability design governs for these support conditions.
For the wall bracing and the arc, the stability resistance was analyzed using the second-order analysis and the governing buckling mode. The calculations are generally related to the structural analysis of members. The connection design, the foundation, and other points that are necessary to complete the project are not part of this thesis.
