The variety of design options, application areas and possibilities to create shear coupling for the two main components wood and concrete make timber-concrete composite systems an exciting alternative in building construction. Due to many different connection options, there are various design methods.

So, in this context, there is no one correct way or solution, instead it's necessary to determine and analyze the basic conditions of a project and to design a structural system using an appropriate model that meets the requirements for load-bearing capacity and serviceability. Suitable design tools adapted to individual cases are often not available for structural engineers involved. Therefore, this thesis deals with the creation of a design tool that can be used for designing a floor slab composed of laminated timber boards and concrete.
