The “New Design Support” dialog box provides a detailed user interface for customizing support design in timber design. Users can choose between internal and external supports and define specific load points for compressive loads in the y- and z-directions of the cross-section. The factor kc,90, which applies to compression perpendicular to the grain, can be set individually; for example, a value of 1.75 can be used for laminated timber. The support length adapts automatically to the standard requirements wherever possible.
