Floating Arch Bridge to New Location

Steel arch bridge floated on pontoons along the Amsterdam-Rhine Canal to its new location in Utrecht

The complete arch span floated on pontoons and moved roughly two kilometers (1.2 miles) north along the Amsterdam-Rhine Canal. Since then, the structure has carried traffic at its present location as De Meernbrug. © Witteveen+Bos
