For many years, the programs of Dlubal Software and Tekla have been linked through interfaces. Both companies recently showed the latest developments at a jointly organized event in Munich.

Dlubal Software and Tekla organize the BIM and Structural Analysis Forum in annual rotation which is well accepted by users of both programs. The participants of the event which is recognized by the Bavarian Chamber of Civil Engineers as further training come from smaller engineering offices up to leading companies in the field of BIM and construction planning.

In various presentations, the integrated planning process between BIM capable CAD software and analysis application was demonstrated. The structural software packages RFEM and RSTAB are able to directly implement models or parts of them from BIM models in Tekla Structures. Thus, users are saved from double the processing and printing of plans and avoid mistakes during planning electronically. The workflow possibilities and exchange scenarios were shown in detail and live using a realistic model and then discussed.

In Tekla Structures, there are numerous opportunities to support the whole construction process besides traditional detailing of structures and drafting working drawings. The software provides a precise, dynamic and database-oriented 3D environment. Models which have been designed with Tekla Structures contain precise and reliable information to handle construction projects from planning to implementation time- and cost-effectively.

A continuous calculation of a 3D beam structure with RSTAB according to Eurocode concluded the event. The possibilities of modelling, load generation and design according to EN 1993 were presented in detail.
