Extrusion

Glossary Term

Extrusion is the dimension elevation of an element by parallel displacement in space.

By extruding a line or a member in the direction of the global axis or the local z-axis, you obtain a surface, and optionally also a member grid in the case of members.

The extrusion of a surface creates a solid, casing, or members between the displaced edge nodes of the surface.
