The strength is a material property, which describes the resistance to failure.

Depending on the loading, various types of strength are relevant. They define limit values of the material, for example, for tension and compression, bending, torsion and shear force. For designs, the characteristic values of the strength should usually be reduced by partial factors.

In RFEM/RSTAB and the add-on modules, you can find the material-specific strength values in libraries (see the figure).
