### Glossary Term

000223

The term "linear" is generally used for a proportional relation between two parameters.
The concept of linearity is a generallinear functionbetween the realsize valuesof two physical quantities. They are used to describe a structural component or a physical relation of an initial value${\displaystyle x}$and a result value${\displaystyle y}$, and if these values are sufficient for an equation, it is referred to as a linear component or a linear relation.

If such a relation is displayed in a rectangular coordinate system with uniform distances on both axes, the relation is displayed as a straight line.
