To activate the nonlinear material behavior in RFEM 6 or RSTAB 9, the Nonlinear Material Behavior add-on must be activated.
The material model should then be modified from the default setting "Linear Elastic" to the relevant "Plastic" setting in the Material dialog box, depending on whether the element is a 1D member, 2D surface, or 3D solid.
Lastly, the Static Analysis Settings should further be modified to set the number of load increments and to activate the "Save results of all load increments" checkbox.
After the calculation, all results can be viewed in the Navigator - Results panel according to the selected load increment.
There may be a scenario where a user does not have a continuous internet connection to run the cloud-based online licenses of RFEM 6, RSTAB 9, or RSECTION.
In order to initially launch these programs, a user must have an initial connection to the internet. The license will then be active over the default 24 hrs where no internet connection is required. After 24 hrs, the internet connection is needed again to renew for an additional 24 hrs.
However, there is now the option to check out a license for up to 30 days where a continuous internet connection is not required over this time period to successfully run the programs. To select a longer time period beyond the default 24 hrs, a user can simply select the borrow date directly in the License Manager.
After the selected time period has expired, an active internet connection is required to renew the license for an additional period.
The Dlubal online license allows you to access your purchased software around the clock, worldwide. For this reason, a globally uniform standard is used as a basis for recording the utilization times and calculating the rental period.
At Dlubal, we have chosen to use the Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). Please keep this in mind when checking the times of your license sessions.
In your customer account, click the "Licenses" button to display the programs you have purchased. The list also shows which licenses are associated with the add-on modules or dongle.
If you cannot find a purchased program in the list, the reason may be that the "+Show" button has not been activated. This also shows the older program generations in the list.
The university licenses for RFEM 6 and RSTAB 9 are controlled by a collective user. The licenses can only be used on a computer that is logged into the Dlubal license server through the university's public / static IP address.
Therefore, the following information is required:
- Email address to be used for the collective user login (functional email address)
- Number of licenses needed
- Public / static IP address or range of addresses at the university
After successfully installing the program, you can access the university license with the collective user login data, including email address and generated password.
Regarding the hardware, there should be no problems as long as it is a MAC based on Intel or ARM. However, the problem is the operating system. Unfortunately, MacOS is not supported yet. You have to have Windows installed on the MAC either with dual-boot, Bootcamp, or virtualization, such as Parallels Desktop.
However, please note that there are license restrictions when using virtual machines and the software key cannot be used.
- RWIND runs on MAC Parallels in a demo mode ➞ no calculation and no data storage are possible.
- To run the full version of RWIND on MAC, the hardware key is required ➞ the user must have a valid license.
Moving authorizations is initially only possible with administrator rights; see Image 01.
Furthermore, a user can only move the authorizations between online licenses; that is, RFEM 6, RSTAB 9, RSECTION 1, and RWIND 2. You can find an overview of your existing online licenses in your Dlubal account under "Licenses" → "Licenses" → "Licenses"; see Image 02.
Before moving the authorization, make sure that it is not active at the time. You can check this under "License Sessions"; see Image 03.
To move the authorization, go to "Licenses" → "Authorizations by License" and select the "Source License" in the "License ID" drop-down menu. All existing authorizations will be displayed. Then, select the "Target License" in the drop-down menu of the corresponding authorization that you want to move; see Image 04.
In the example, the authorizations of the "Structural Stability" and "Steel Design" add-ons have been moved from Online License 03 to Online License 02.
In the event that you have already successfully completed a test phase, we can only offer a shortened test phase.
If you are interested in a particular add-on, you can always contact one of our sales representatives to allow for an individual adjustment of the trial license(s) of the desired products/add-ons.
If you see this error message, you cannot connect to our license server to verify your license.
Please ask your IT department to check the communication with our server. It is necessary to enable the following access in the firewall policies as well as in the network:
- Server name: lm.dlubal.com
- Server IP: 188.8.131.52
- Server port: 443
If the connection still does not work after this procedure, your IT department needs to check whether the SSL certificate has been exchanged, based on your internal guidelines (for example, using a proxy). They should be able to check this with software (for example, OpenSSL) in the command line:
- cd C:\Program Files\OpenSSL-Win64\bin
- openssl.exe s_client -connect lm.dlubal.com:443
After the release of the new generation of Dlubal programs, including RFEM 6 and RSTAB 9, the Dlubal extranet layout was modified. The ability to download your authorization file (author.ini) is still possible. The file is now in a different location.
After successfully logging in to the extranet, you can follow this workflow selection:
Licenses → Authorization Files for Download | RFEM 5, RSTAB 8,... → Authorization Files for Download...
The new generation of programs (RFEM 6, RSTAB 9, RSECTION) are entirely cloud-based, so they use online login for the authorization and no longer require the authorization file.

“Thank you very much for the useful information.
I would like to pay a compliment to your support team. I am always impressed how quickly and professionally the questions are answered. In the industry of structural analysis, I use several software including service contract, but your support is by far the best.”
