• ### I use the load generator "Convert Area Loads to Member Loads via Cells." What is the function of the "Nodes on virtual lines" feature?

If a cell closed on all sides is detected in the structural model, it can be used for the load application. However, if the desired load range is not completely enclosed by members, the cell is not recognized by the load generator.

The "Nodes on virtual lines" function allows you to define the corner nodes of the load area manually, and thus clearly define the cell area. The cell defined in this way can then be selected as usual by using the pick function of the individual cell nodes.

• ### Is it possible to read out the values from a table to use them for a parametric input?

It is possible to select the values from the table by entering "&refcell" with the syntax "$table number(cell description)." Figure 01 shows a member with a length of 4.20 m. The length is shown in Table "1.17 Members" in Cell L1. This value can be used in the list of parameters or in the formula editor. For this, use the following formula for the system shown in Figure 01:$1.17(L1)

It is not possible to read out cells from the result table because of the circular reference.
• ### How can I quickly cross the individual bays in a large model by using bracing?

This is entirely possible with our model generator. You can open it by using the menu bar "Tools → Generate Model - Members → Bracing in Cells." If the program recognizes a closed cell, it is possible to generate a bracing for it by assigning a member type and a cross-section.
