I have applied a strict numbering of the objects to a global spatial model.
However, the Visibility by Numbering function only allows me to display either surfaces or members by their numbering. Is there an easy way to display the members 100 to 120 as well as the surfaces numbered in the same area in one visibility?
AnswerIt should work with the Special Selection → Add function. Here is a short video explaining the exact procedure.
The header properties created from the customer data during the installation can be changed in the printout report by using the menu Settings → Header... or by using the corresponding button in the toolbar of the printout report.
For example, if you set the default numbers for "Page" and select the check box, the individual pages are managed continuously.
The "Details" button allows you to enter detailed settings for the numbering in a new dialog box. Among other things, this dialog box controls whether there is a prefix added to the page numbering. The prefix can be an abbreviation that is specified chapter by chapter, for example, to indicate all model data in the numbering with a prefix "MO."
Unfortunately, it is not possible to add suffixes.
AnswerIn RFEM, it is possible to search for FE mesh nodes using the menu 'Edit'→ 'Find by Number'. An existing FE mesh is of course a prerequisite.
AnswerThe easiest way to find a member is to select Project Navigator - Data. Here, right-click the members and select "Find Members." Now you can enter the member number and the member is marked with an arrow in the graphic.
AnswerThe load case descriptions, load case numbers and also units can be hidden in the 'Project Navigator - Display'.
AnswerIn the first step, the automatic renumbering of the entire model should be carried out such a way, that any later numbers will be used. Then, it is possible to select the surfaces in groups and assign them the required number. In this case, both the single and the automatic renumbering is possible.
AnswerThe RF‑/PLATE‑BUCKLING add-on module is not downward compatible. Please open the file with the same program version you have created the file with, or with a newer version. The previous versions can be downloaded under the link below this FAQ.
AnswerGenerally, the licensing requires two things:The license key can be provided via a USB dongle or via a network softlock on a central company server. For the licensing from a client, it is necessary to have a permanent connection to the server. Once a license has been assigned, it is visible on the web-based license interface at http://localhost:1947/_int_/sessions.html. The automatic time-out after 12 hours of inactivity prevents the license from being permanently assigned and, releases it to other users.
With the most recent generation of license keys, it is possible to activate 50 licenses for each program and add-on module. This means that you can access RFEM and RF‑STEEL EC3 from a maximum of 50 computers at the same time.
- License key
- Corresponding authorization file
AnswerThe modifications are not considered in the add-on module and must be adjusted manually.
AnswerYes, you can access this feature via Tools - Renumber - Move. The attached video shows it.

Wind Simulation & Wind Load Generation
With the stand-alone program RWIND Simulation, wind flows around simple or complex structures can be simulated by means of a digital wind tunnel.
The generated wind loads acting on these objects can be imported to RFEM or RSTAB.
“Thank you for the valuable information.
I would like to pay a compliment to your support team. I am always impressed how quickly and professionally the questions are answered. I have used a lot of software with a support contract in the field of structural analysis, but your support is by far the best. ”
