The modal response parameters can be set in the RF-DYNAM PRO - Equivalent Forces add-on module under the Response Spectra tab. In the Code Parameters table > Type of Spectrum > Modal Response Parameters, the default is set to "No Modification". This setting can be seen in Figure 1.
Changing this to "Force Related" in the drop-down window will divide the response spectra by Ie/R based on Sect. 22.214.171.124 . Additionally, in the Code Parameters table > Coefficients, the Seismic Importance Factor (Ie) and the Response Modification Factor (R) can further be set.
AnswerSection 6.1.5 (4) of Eurocode 5 requires to apply the smaller transversal compression coefficient of kc,90 for the concentrated loads that are close to the support.As an option, it is possible to deactivate the support pressure design in the RX‑TIMBER program and set the corresponding transversal compression stiffening.If the entered concentrated load is not relevant for design, there is the additional option to assign the user-defined transversal compression factor (Figure 03).
You have probably carried out the design in RF‑/TIMBER Pro according to DIN 1052:2008 and used a cut-to-grain angle of less than 3° (see Figure 01). According to Section 10.4.1 (1) of DIN 1052, such a cut-to-grain angle does not need to be considered. If you switch the design to the current DIN EN 1995 (see Figure 02), the design will also be carried out for the angle of less than 3°.
Furthermore, the module allows you to analyse transversal tension stress in the apex etc., according to the Section 6.4.3 ff. of the Eurocode. This procedure is explained in detail in the webinar.
