  • Answer

If a real computer with the Windows operating system is actually used and no hardware changes and/or new installation of the operating system has been made, the license problem is usually caused by the following points:

    • The mandatory service 'Sentinel LDK License Manager' may be damaged after a Windows update.
Solution: Reinstalling the driver. It can be downloaded and installed via the following link. http://download.dlubal.com/?file=Sentinel_LDK_GUI_setup.zip

    • The antivirus program blocks the file hasplms.exe.
Solution: Add the hasplms.exe from the directory to the exceptions of the antivirus program

    • Other security software (e.g. Sandboxie) prevents proper communication of the license service.
Solution: You can also either add hasplms.exe to the trusted programs or uninstall this software
  • Answer

The RWIND Simulation program is protected against unauthorized use. If the software key is authorized, the program is only authorized for a specific activation period, which must be defined by the user. After this period, the program automatically switches to the demo mode; the previously used license is freely availablea gain for a new activation. To avoid the reactivation on the same single‑user computer, it is possible to renew the license online (a computer is connected to the Internet) by specifying a new activation period before the activation period expires. Proceed as follows:

    1. Run RWIND Simulation "As Administrator." To do this, right-click the RWIND Simulation icon and select "Run As Administrator."

      Figure 01 - Program Start

    2. Select the "RWIND Simulation - License and Authorization" function in the "Help" menu.

Figure 02 - License and Authorization Settings

This opens the "RWIND Simulation 1.xx Authorization Status" dialog box.

    3. Check in the "RWIND Simulation 1.xx Authorization Status" dialog box if an active software key authorization is available. This is the case if the "Software Key" option is selected in the "Authorization Method" section, and an active authorization is indicated by a green dot in the "Authorization Status" section.

      Figure 03 - Authorization Status

If the check is negative, and a red dot is displayed, no RWIND Simulation license based on a software key is activated on the single-user computer. As a result, the activation period for a license cannot be extended.

If the requirements mentioned above are met, click the "Extend Activation Online" button. The "Extend Activation Online" dialog box appears.

    4. The "Extend Activation Online" dialog box shows the license specification to be extended.

Enter your online activation key based on your contract documents and define the new activation period in the date field.

Then, click the "Extend Activation Now" function to run the online extension.

Figure 04 - Extension of Activation

This opens the "RWIND Simulation 1.xx" dialog box.

    5. In the "RWIND Simulation 1.xx" dialog with the confirmation prompt about the planned modification, click "OK" to finally change the activation period.

      Figure 05 - Confirmation Prompt

After successfully changing the activation period, you receive a confirmation message and can use the program without restrictions.
Thus, your purchased license is used in our system for the newly defined activation period. During this time, it is not possible to activate the RWIND Simulation program with the activation key on any other computer. The assignment of the license in our system ends with a proper deactivation or after the defined activation period has expired.

To avoid unnecessary license assignments in our system due to unexpected computer problems on your part (defect, loss, hardware replacement, employee change, and so on), we recommend you to keep the activation period as short as possible.

  • Answer

The RWIND Simulation program is protected against unauthorized use. The application works without restrictions on a single-user computer, where the license based on a software key has been activated. To release the assigned license (for example, to use it on another single‑user computer), you can deactivate the license on the license-holding single-user computer offline via e‑mail.

      Figure 03 - Authorization Status

If the check is negative, and a red dot is displayed, no RWIND Simulation license based on a software key is activated on the single-user computer. As a result, no license can also be deactivated.

If the requirements mentioned above are met, click the "Deactivate via E‑Mail" button. The "Deactivation of RWIND Simulation" dialog box appears.

    4. The "Deactivation of RWIND Simulation" dialog box explains the deactivation process.

Select the "Deactivate RWIND Simulation Now" function.

      Figure 04 - E-mail Deactivation

This opens the "RWIND Simulation 1.xx" dialog box.

    5. In the "RWIND Simulation 1.xx" dialog box, click "Yes" to confirm the license deactivation.

      Figure 05 - Confirmation Prompt

After the successful deactivation, you will receive a confirmation message. Now, you can only use the program in the demo mode.

The "Deactivation of RWIND Simulation" dialog box opens again.

    6. The deactivation code is now displayed in the "Deactivation of RWIND Simulation" dialog box. Copy this text block to the Windows clipboard with the "Copy to Clipboard" function and then paste the code into a blank e‑mail with [Ctrl]+[V] or the Windows paste function. Send this email to support@dlubal.com to complete the license deactivation.

  • Answer

If there is no authorization file already being used on the computer, the program tries to reactivate the softlock. Since this is already active, the corresponding message appears. There are two ways to apply the already activated license to the clients.
    1. Select the "Use demo version" option in the "Authorization" dialog box and load the authorization file as follows: Help → Authorization → Load Authorization File
    2. Rename the AUTHOR.ini file to AUTHORE.ini and save it in the directory C:\ProgramData\Dlubal\Global\General Data.
  • Answer

In the case of a single user license , the user works with the programs licensed to his workstation. Use of the licenses is controlled by a key (USB hardlock, also known as dongle or softlock). The key is installed directly on the computer of the respective workstation. Instead of the USB hardlock, software (softlock) can also assume the protective function. The corresponding authorization file (author.ini) is used to control which programs can be operated with the respective key.

The advantage of such a single-user license is that the user always has exactly the same configuration of the programs available in the form of a key. No one else can use or block the programs at the same time. Using the programs can be easily transferred from one computer to another, for example, by a USB hardlock. The prerequisite is that the programs have been installed once on the computer with the corresponding authorization.

The same thing works with the softlock. Here, the relocation procedure is only a bit more complex and can be carried out by means of software. Single-user licenses are particularly advantageous for smaller offices with fewer users who always work with the same software configuration.

For a network license, the license protection is activated by means of a special network key. It is also available as USB hardlock or softlock. The network key can be attached or installed on any computer that can be reached in the network. A special license manager then controls the access to it. The Dlubal software itself is installed as is the case with the single-user license. The authorization file then specifies that the protection key is searched for in the network.

The advantage of the network license is that it is no longer necessary to change/move the key from one workstation to an other. Once the software has been installed, it can also be used as long as one license is free and not already used by another user. Another significant advantage is that the respective features of program modules can be better adapted to the requirements. Less frequently used add-on modules can be purchased in smaller numbers than number of employees who have to be able to work with them. The likelihood is low that another employee will use the license at the same time. Thus, add-on modules can also be shared with each other. Due to the option to use softlocks, it is also possible to use them on virtual machines. If network licenses are used, you can also access the Dlubal programs remotely, for example by using Remote Desktop. Since not everyone has a physical access to the server, the license is also better protected against theft, for example, and you do not have to search for it with other employees.

Network licenses are now the standard for larger companies with several employees.

    Example
    Single-User License
Employee A works in reinforced concrete area:
    RFEM, RF-CONCRETE, EC2 for RFEM, RF-PUNCH Pro, RF-CONCRETE Columns

Employee B works in the steel construction sector:
    RF-STEEL EC3, RF-STABILITY, RF-DYNAM - Natural Vibrations

Employees A also need access to the RF-DYNAM Basis, so they have to get the key from employee B. However, he can not process any reinforced concrete structures.

Compare network license with the same equipment
    Two licenses RFEM, RF-CONCRETE, EC2 for RFEM, RF-PUNCH Pro, RF-CONCRETE Columns, RF-STEEL EC3, RF-STABILITY, RF-DYNAM Natural Vibrations

Each employee can use the full range of add-on modules as long as the other employee is not working with them at the same time. The license is only used if the add-on module is open (in use). For example, it would also be possible to edit a structural system with mixed steel and concrete materials.

Due to the increased usability and flexibility of the add-on modules, network licenses are associated with an additional charge of approx. 25% of the initial license price (all prices are listed in the webshop).
