Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Customer Support 24/7
AnswerOur authorization has a service entry. This entry describes whether a customer has purchased our software from us with a valid service contract (Basic, Pro) or without a service contract. For a case with a service contract, the entry for the end date related to the service contract concluded with us is stored in the entry. This form of authorization then accepts all assigned versions with a creation date less than this date. For the other case without the service contract, only the current version number at the time of the software purchase (e. G. example, 5.19 - Major Version No. minor version number). In this variant, the authorization only accepts assigned versions with the same major and minor version numbers.
AnswerThe useful life of the student version is limited to 1 year. However, it can be extended again and again for a further year, whereby a new current enrollment certificate has to be presented in each case. Please use the following form to renew:
AnswerReading in is done directly in one of the additional modules and not via the project manager. Please start one of the licensed modules and select in the menu item "Help" the option "Read authorization file ..." (see picture 01). Enter the path where you copied the authorization file and complete the process. In addition, if there is a problem with licensing, please send us the diagnostic file for authorization. These can be created in the menu item "Help → System diagnostics" (see Fig. 02).
If the import of the current authorization file was successful and the program otherwise runs smoothly, it is not that easy to find an explanation of the problem. Therefore, please send us the diagnostic file "authorization.txt". You can do it by selecting the menu item "Help → Authorization → Diagnostics."
AnswerIt appears that an error occurred while creating the authorization file. It is best if you download a new authorization file on our homepage by entering your user data and try again.
A user must have the read and write permissions for the destination folder. This folder is specified in the error message (see Figure 01).
Please set the required permissions to this folder. To do this, select the folder and open its properties. In the 'Security' tab, you can then, for example, set full access for the 'Users' group or for the selected users (see Figure 02).
Now, it should be possible to import the license file. The required user rights can also be found in the User Rights document that is available under Downloads below.
As an alternative, you can start the program as an administrator by using the 'Run as Administrator' command in the shortcut menu of the program icon (see Figure 03). Then, import the current license file.
Check whether the signal light of the dongle is on (see Figure 01). If it does not light up, try another USB slot, preferably using directly a motherboard and not a USB hub or the front of the computer.
If the light is still not on, use another PC to test it. If the result is the same, the dongle is most likely damaged and needs to be replaced.
If the error message appears, despite the signal light is on, please make sure that you are using the most current authorization file.
If you cannot solve the problem, please send us a screenshot of the error message, a brief description of the problem and the diagnostic file that you can generate by using the program menu 'Help' (see Figure 02).
Log on to your Dlubal account on our website.
If you have ever had contact with us via email, signing in to your account should be easy. When logging on for the first time, you must 'reset password' and then enter your own password (see Figure 01).
After signing in, you can find all AUTHOR.INI files that are up-to-date for your licences under 'Authorization Files' (see Figure 02).
AnswerThe title block of the printout report is created using the authorization file, which was used in the initial installation of our programs.
A subsequent change in the authorization file does not necessarily change all report headers immediately.
For the changed title block to be created as default in the authorization file, the "old" one has to be removed first.
To do so, please delete the file "DlubalProtocolConfigNew.cfg" in the following (default) directory:
While deleting the file, our applications must be closed!
If the 'Authorization' dialog box (Figure 01) does not appear at the program start, an authorization file has already been imported at an earlier point in time. In this case, select the 'Diagnostics' option in the menu 'Help → Authorization' (Figure 02).
Save the text file and then open it. In Windows Explorer, set the path displayed under 'PermDataDirectory' (Figure 03). In this directory, you will find the AUTHORE.INI file. Delete this file.
When you start the program next time, the dialog box shown in Figure 01 will appear. To activate the licence, select the 'Use full version' option. The licence activation requires the Internet connection.
