• ### Do you have to install the full version or test on Windows Vista, an alert message indicating you have insufficient free space? If so, how?

New FAQ 003471 EN

The capacity of your C drive: no longer allows installation of the program. You must choose another partition of your hard drive for installation. You can proceed as described below:
• Start by displaying the "Run" command from the Start menu by clicking Start Menu> Run (or the Windows + R key)
• Type regedit and confirm
• Open the key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion
• On the right, double click on the key: ProgramFilesDir and modify the data of this key by the new path of the installation folder.
• For example, enter the path D: \ Program Files to change the partition on which the installation will take place.
• Finally, you restart the installation with a double-click on the icon.

• ### During the installation, I get the message 'Failed to install hardlock.cat signature'.How can I fix this?

New FAQ 003451 EN

The license drivers are digitally signed. If you try to install a new license driver that is missing in the existing signature of your operating system, a message appears.
To solve this problem, please perform a Windows update. After having restarted the operating system, the installation should be completed.
• ### In RF-PLATE-BUCKLING, the reduction factor for consideration of the column buckling χc is calculated by the modified slenderness ratio of sheet metal plate ${\overline{\mathrm\lambda}}_{\mathrm p}$. Why is it not calculated with the slenderness ratio of the subsection ${\overline{\mathrm\lambda}}_{\mathrm c}$ ?

New FAQ 003366 EN

The RF-PLATE-BUCKLING performs the plate buckling analysis according to Chapter 10 "Reduced Stress Method" of EN 1993-1-5. According to EN 1993-1-5, 10 (5) a), it is necessary to determine all reduction factors with the modified slenderness ratio of the plate panel ${\overline{\mathrm\lambda}}_{\mathrm p}$ according to Equation (10.2).
• ### RSTAB and RFEM crash when the program starts up. I have installed the BitDefender antivirus software on my computer. What is the reason?

FAQ 002997 EN

The problem was caused by an incorrect update of the signature database of BitDefender. Update the signature database of BitDefender to correct the problem.

• ### If new versions of RSTAB and RFEM are installed with msiexec, will the old versions be overwritten?

FAQ 002940 EN

No, the old versions will not be uninstalled. It is thus possible to use several versions of RFEM on the computer at the same time, which is also useful in many cases.

If you want to uninstall an old RFEM version, use the following command:

msiexec -x <old MSI package>

For a complete list of all options available for msiexec, use the following command:

msiexec -h
• ### Is there a possibility to select "bars" and to apply the geometry as buckling field and its internal forces into the module?

FAQ 002906 EN

Yes, that is possible. If the add-on module FE-BEUL is not opened as a stand-alone variant but via RSTAB / RFEM, the loading fields (c / t parts of a bar cross-section) as well as the respective load cases can be read in FE-BEUL of the RSTAB / RFEM model (see Image).
• ### I use the add-on module PLATE-BUCKLING and need more detailed information on how the critical buckling stress for buckling behavior is calculated. The stiffeners end before the edges. Is the eigenvalue of the buckling analysis calculated as a member with the effective plate width?

FAQ 002793 EN

If your buckling stiffeners are not defined within the complete length of buckling panel, the PLATE-BUCKLING program will automatically generate this stiffness as equivalent member incl. effective width and performs eigenvalue analysis by the BUCK Add-on Module. The result of it is the critical buckling stress of the member and thus of the stiffness. The length of the equivalent member is the stiffener length itself. It is currently not possible to display the internal results in detail.

• ### Is it possible to 'borrow' licences from the server?

FAQ 002636 EN

No, our current licensing system has no lending function – regardless of the physical (hardlock, USB dongle) or digital (softlock) software protection variant.

In contrast to the physical variant, the digital software protection technology also provides a 'rehost' function in order to transfer the digital software protection system from one computer to another. However, this transfer does not mean it is possible to transfer a single licence for a particular program of our product range, but the entire licensing that is controlled by the respective softlock. Thus, you can only transfer the digital software protection to another computer by plugging the physical software protection key to another computer.

• ### When importing the authorization file, I get the error saying that the authorization file cannot be copied to the destination folder. What should I do?

FAQ 002620 EN

A user must have the read and write permissions for the destination folder. This folder is specified in the error message (see Figure 01).

Please set the required permissions to this folder. To do this, select the folder and open its properties. In the 'Security' tab, you can then, for example, set full access for the 'Users' group or for the selected users (see Figure 02).

Now, it should be possible to import the license file. The required user rights can also be found in the User Rights document that is available under Downloads below.

As an alternative, you can start the program as an administrator by using the 'Run as Administrator' command in the shortcut menu of the program icon (see Figure 03). Then, import the current license file.

• ### The address and/or company name was changed in the authorization file, but this is not applied in the print header

FAQ 002364 EN

The title block of the printout report is created using the authorization file, which was used in the initial installation of our programs.
A subsequent change in the authorization file does not necessarily change all report headers immediately.

For the changed title block to be created as default in the authorization file, the "old" one has to be removed first.
To do so, please delete the file "DlubalProtocolConfigNew.cfg" in the following (default) directory:
C:\ProgramData\Dlubal\Global\General Data

While deleting the file, our applications must be closed!
