Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
FAQ 002636 EN Licensing & Authorisation RFEM RSTAB CRANEWAY PLATE-BUCKLING Stand-Alone RX‑TIMBER Glued‑Laminated Beam RX-TIMBER Roof RX-TIMBER Continuous Beam RX-TIMBER Purlin RX-TIMBER Frame SIA 262 for RFEM RX-TIMBER Column RX-TIMBER Brace
AnswerNo, our current licensing system, regardless of the physical (Hardlock / USB copy protection plug) and the digital (Softlock) software protection variant, unfortunately has no borrowing function.
In contrast to the physical variant, the digital software protection technology additionally holds a "Rehost" function for transferring the digital software protection system from one computer to another. However, this transfer does not imply a transfer of a single license for a particular program from our product range but from the entire licensing that is governed by affected "softlock". The transfer of the digital software protection to another computer corresponds to the replacement of a physical copy protection plug to another computer.
When I import the authorization file I get the error that the authorization file can not be copied to the destination folder. What should I do?

The user must have read and write access to the destination folder. This folder is specified in the error message (see Fig. 01).
Please set the required permissions on this folder. To do this, select the folder and call its properties. In the "Security" tab you can then z. For example, set Full Control for the Users group or for selected users (see Figure 02).
It should now be possible to read in the license file. The required user rights can also be found in the user rights document, which is available at the bottom of the downloads .
Alternatively, you can start the program as an administrator by selecting the "Run as administrator" command from the context menu of the program icon (see Fig. 03). Then read the current license file.
First, it should be checked whether a signal lamp lights up on the connected dongle (see Fig. 01). If it does not light up, try another USB slot, preferably directly on the mainboard of the computer and not on a USB hub or on the front of the computer. If the light is still off, try another PC. If the light does not shine, the dongle is probably defective and needs to be replaced.
If the light is on, please make sure you are using the latest authorization file. If that does not solve your problem, please send us a screenshot of the error message, a brief description of the problem and the diagnostic file (see Fig. 02).
I have problems with the installation of Dlubal Software programs. What could be the reason for this?
FAQ 002530 EN Installation RFEM RSTAB CRANEWAY RX‑TIMBER Glued‑Laminated Beam RX-TIMBER Roof RX-TIMBER Continuous Beam RX-TIMBER Purlin RX-TIMBER Frame RX-TIMBER Column RX-TIMBER Brace SHAPE-THIN COMPOSITE-BEAM
Installation problems often have the following causes:
- Antivirus software
- User rights
- Windows updates

The default settings are loaded for every new file. If you wish to change them, you have to create a new profile after making the desired changes and set it as "Default" (see figure). If you now start a new file, this setting remains saved. It is also possible to create several profiles, which can subsequently be loaded and managed.
AnswerThe installation packages can be distributed with an MSI file (Windows Installer Package). For this, it is necessary to extract the MSI file from the installation package.
Run setup.exe with the parameter '-E'. In the example shown in Figure 01, the RFEM installation file has been copied to the drive C:\. After the decompression, you find a new folder in the same path with the name 'Program_Version Number_Architecture'. In the example in Figure 01, a folder with the name RFEM5.07.13_64-bit has been created.
The installation can be then started from this folder with the command 'msiexec -i .msi' (see Figure 02). If the authorization file is to be imported at the same time and if the language is German, the command will be as follows:
msiexec -i "Dlubal RSTAB 64-bit.msi" -passive -q TRANSFORMS=1031.mst AUTHORIZATION_FILE_PATH=\\[IHR SERVER]\AUTHOR.INI
If using the command -q (=-quiet), the installation is carried out without the user interface.
The command prompt should be started by right-clicking and selecting the shortcut menu option 'Run as Administrator'.
If the program language is to be English, it is necessary to delete the parameter 'TRANSFORMS=1031.mst'.
You can find the detailed information about all commands and language IDs in the document 'Software Deployment'.
