Curved c/t Parts and Classification in RF-/STEEL EC3

Tips & Tricks

The RF-/STEEL EC3 add‑on module performs a classification of cross‑sections according to EN 1993‑1‑1 and EN 1993‑1‑5. The standard covers various straight c/t parts. For curved c/t parts, however, a classification is not possible. For this reason, STEEL EC3 offers you the option to ignore the classification of curved c/t parts.

For large arches, which can also be subject to local plate buckling, SHAPE‑THIN is the right tool for splitting the arch into several straight segments.
